What our library council is

A library- a room overflowing with boundless ideas and opportunities. Today, in 2015, in the age of distractions, it is very difficult to inculcate in a growing child the habit of reading. Competing with TVs, MP3 players, playstations and the vastness of the internet, the task of showing teenagers the merits of reading is not an easy one. This task has been undertaken by the library council of our school, the brainchild of our principal sir. Nowadays, we lead such high-stress lives that the concept of spending time with yourself has long been forgotten. All our library council is trying to do is to revive that. By visiting the library of the british embassy, library of the american embassy, the delhi public library and the library of the G D Goenka University, we have gained alot of exposure and now recognize the library as not only a room full of books, but as an adobe of knowledge. Our aim is to transport people from this real world to aworld of fantasy, by not only promoting fictional books but also biographies and autobiographies. We want to foster a lifelong interest in books and reading for all. We want to foster a bright future for all.
